What is the Dark Web?

The dark web is a hidden network of websites not visible to conventional web search engines like Google and Bing. Access to the dark web requires knowledge of specific server locations and may not even be available to a traditional web browser. Programs such as TOR can be used to randomly bounce encrypted traffic around the globe to provide anonymous access. The dark web is widely known for providing a platform for illegal and criminal activities. Reports have shown that cybercriminals were found selling millions of stolen credit card records on the dark web.
