What is the Dark Web?

The dark web is a part of the internet that is not visible to conventional web search engines like Google and Bing. Access to the dark web requires knowledge of specific server locations and may not even be available to a traditional web browser. Sometimes programs such as TOR are used to randomly bounce encrypted traffic around the globe to provide anonymous access. The dark web is widely known for providing a platform for illegal and criminal activities. It has been reported that cybercriminals were found selling millions of stolen credit card records on the dark web.
